HEALTH AND NUTRITION
LOUNGE Founder, Partner and Managing Director Thuraya was born in Beirut Lebanon and is a Graduate of the School of Business of the American University of Beirut where she pursued her studies in Masters of Business. She worked in Lebanon in the banking sector and later moved to manage family business in Lebanon. Thuraya founded Live'ly in 2005 in Dubai after a personal experience in weight loss.
Ghida Arnaout B. Sc., Clinical Dietician Ghida graduated from the American University of Beirut with a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2007.After graduation she completed her one year internship at a hospital in Beirut where she was exposed to various medical wards and learned how therapeutic nutrition is important in improving the health and wellbeing of inpatients. That fulfilling and educative experience pushed her to pursue a job as a clinical dietitian in a reputable hospital in her hometown Sidon, Lebanon where she was responsible for advising patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and modifications. Since Ghida’s work ethic is grounded on promoting and serving society’s wellbeing and general health, she actively engaged in nutritional awareness events one of which involved educating children as well as poor people in various areas of Lebanon about the importance of proper nutrition on health. She finally decided to expand her professional horizons and thus joined Live’ly to be part of a team who makes the subject of nutrition not only a subject people hear about on talk shows or on TV but a tangible and felt lifestyle change to be implemented in people’s daily lives. With all this in mind, Ghida has demonstrated her willingness as a health advocate and looks forward to enhancing the nutritional health care sector in the U.A.E.
Sara Ismail B.Sc. Clinical Dietitian Sara graduated from the American University of Beirut in 2004. To further enhance her pratical dietetic skills, she pursued a one year internship at a reputable hopsital in Beirut. After successfully completing her internship, she then officially became part of the hospital team. Three years as a clinical dietitian in hospital allowed her to enrich her knowledge and skills in the clinical as well as the food service domain. In 2008, Sara decided to expand her horizons and so she traveled to Bahrain where she worked as a senior dietician in a reputable diet center. In addition to her passion in clinical nutrition, she also drew interest in community work; so, in summer of 2010 she volunteered to work alongside NGOs and Lebanese ministries to help raise funds as well as raise awareness about health and nutrition. With her dietetic experience, she decided to join Live'ly team to share her knowledge with the diverse community of the U.A.E.
Yasmine Haddad B.Sc., M.Sc. in Food Technoloy. Clinical Dietician Yasmine graduated with a B.Sc in Nutrition and Dietetics from the American University of Beirut in 2003. Having drawn interest in the food processing & safety sector believing it compliments her human nutrition background, she pursued a Masters in Food Technology. Alongside her masters, she did a one year training in a reputable hospital in Beirut where she had encountered various medical conditions & was able to practice food safety & hygiene in the hospital kitchen which enriched her technical background. Soon after her Masters & hospital training she joined the food catering sector where she worked with reputable catering company in Lebanon as a quality manager. As part of her work, she took a training course in ISO: 9001:2000 internal auditing and earned a certificate. Since her main aim was to merge both food service & nutrition, Yasmine decided to free-lance with a well-known industrial catering company based in Yemen which catered an important Canadian oil company. She was asked to do a nutritional analysis of their weekly menu. Having been exposed to food service & clinical work, she joined a diet center in Lebanon. For one year, her work involved therapeutic nutrition, menu development, food safety & hygiene. After having gained experience in Lebanon & getting the best out of both nutrition & food science, Yasmine decided to travel to the U.A.E. & become a member of the Live’ly team where she believes she can educate the diverse community of Dubai with her knowledge & also further enhance her personal skills.
Zeina El-Hoss B. Sc. Clinical Dietitian Zeina graduated from the American University of Beirut with a B. Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2002. In order to pursue her interest in food, she helped set up of the first catering diet centers in Doha and Abu Dhabi as a Clinical / Production Dietitian to combine her schooling background in Nutrition and her training in Food Production by training the kitchen team on healthy catering practices and handling the clinical consultations. By beginning of 2008, she joined a leading multinational FMCG company in the field of food and beverages as a Nutrition Specialist. Zeina joined the Live’ly team in November 2008; a step that gives her the opportunity to practice a career that she is passionate about: increasing health and nutritional awareness by educating people and empowering them to make smart food choices while enjoying the delights of marvelous cuisines from all over the world!
Tina Choueiri BS, MPH : Consulting Dietician Tina earned her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2002 from the American University of Beirut. She did a one year training afterwards in a reputable University Hospital in Beirut where she had her first hands on experience with therapeutic nutrition, patient counseling and a thorough education in medical conditions. Soon after her training she was asked to join the hospital and become a resident dietician taking care of urology and cardiology departments’ patients. Meanwhile Tina practiced her clinical skills in private clinics and dealt with a broad spectrum of cases from weight management to diabetes, hormonal irregularities and child obesity. Being exposed to Patient education in clinical settings and enjoying the communication process that she thinks is 90% of her job, Tina decided to pursue her studies in Health Promotion and joined the American University of Beirut again for a Masters in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Behavior Education. She believes the 2 years of her masters made the turn in her life and increased her interest in the dynamics of health communication and behavioral changes specifically weight related behaviors. During her masters Tina participated in many research projects at the refugees camps in Lebanon with the UNFPA and the AUB, assessing and evaluating the public health status and was invited to many lectures for general public and health professionals in that field before she moved to Dubai to join Live’ly founding Team and set up the dietetic department in September 2005. Currently Head Clinical Dietician and Health Promoter at Live'ly LLC in Dubai she believes Live'ly is the perfect place to fulfill her aspirations as a clinical dietitian as well as a health promoter. At Live’ly Tina helps people manage their weights and adjust their lifestyles while she also works on Live’ly community interventions and awareness programs.
Kassem Mohammad Taha Executive Chef Specialized in Healthy Cooking, Born in 1974 in Syria, Chef Kassem started a serious culinary career in Jordan in the late 80's. Kassem had worked as a line cook in his family owned restaurant in Syria when he decided to get serious about cooking. He started spending all of his free time reading cookbooks, watching cooking shows and practicing on family and friends. This “self-designed” education was propelled greatly by the school taught chefs he worked with at some of Jordan's top Hotels and five star Restaurants. Within few years, he had trained on every station in the kitchen and got exposed to different cuisines as well and evolved to become an Executive Chef in 1998. Kassem decided it was time to evolve further as a Chef and he moved to U.A.E. in 2000 where he joined some of the country's biggest businesses in food catering. This time Kassem took to the highway to explore the Healthy Culinary Art and joined as Executive Chef at Live'ly Healthy Cuisine. “This experience was invaluable to me as a chef because of the huge differences not just in the food and ingredients, but in the preparation and I discovered that Healthy Food can be very tasty too”. Kassem is part of the founding team of Live'ly where he continues to lead and train a team dedicated to Healthy and First Class cooking.
